By the way, threads are not the same as processes...

Is this your "duh" moment? Multiple apps, only a couple of which are even mutli-thread aware, shouldn't be triggering the issues they are. Looking at event logs and crash dumps showed teh thread handler corrupting the stack.

Under XP, Linux, Mac OS X, they don't.

Under Vista... kablooey..

Without having any more information than you can provide, it’s odd you’re jumping to blaming Vista for a problem few have seen. (Neither I nor anybody I know using Vista has ever experienced such a problem.) Then again, you’ve already blamed Microsoft for not writing drivers for other people’s hardware, so maybe I shouldn’t be surprised at all.
