Hollyweird was likely just as screwed up then. Shows you not to make heros of men.

The shows back then expressed good moral messages. For that, they can be embraced. But I still will never look at Andy or Opie the same again (or the Fonz for that matter)

For sure. My guess is that writers, directors and producers ran the show more than actors (directly opposite from today.) Plus, the advertisers back in the day were conservative and not to be trifled with.

Then came the 70's.
