MUST I buy separate ticket for Beijing Airport Express train?

Posted on 12/21/2008 9:05:36 PM PST by rudy45

I have a dark blue card from Beijing Subway that I have been using. It says 一卡通 on the front. I use it on all the "regular" lines, 5, 13, 2, 1, 10 etc. and of course the system takes RMB2 from the card each time. I was hoping to be able to put RMB25 on the card, then use that same card on Airport Express 机场快轨, but the person at one of the stations said I couldn't. Is he right? MUST I buy a separate card for 机场快轨, even if I have enough money on my 一卡通? Thanks. It's inconvenient, because the non-Airport Express stations apparently don't sell 机场快轨的票, that is, apparently they're sold only at 机场快轨的站 (?) I'd like to save time and not have to buy the ticket at the time I'm in a rush for the airport. Thanks.

I’m sorry, I can’t help you because the key words in your post appear as if they were gnawed by some nasty rodent.

Duh. The answer is in the tea leaves; third street over from the over-priced Duck restaurant.

It's all there, in the leaves.

“I have a dark blue card from Beijing Subway that I have been using”

#1—I know the GOV of NY just raised a bunch of taxes
this is gonna be an expensive ride....

#2—You donated money to a certain Nigerian, (cause his father the king died, and he couldn’t retrieve any of his money) and he sent you this card as collateral till the wire transfer is completed.

I always buy a card each time I ride, at the machine near the turn gate.

我可以得到一张月度通行证或我必须每次支付? Print that out and hand it to the guy at the subway station.

C'mon Rudy...were you really expecting to get an answer here?

By the way, at the Shanghai Airport the answer would be 'Yes.'

I was hoping to be able to put RMB25 on the card, then use that same card on Airport Express 机场快轨
This is feasible.

but the person at one of the stations said I couldn't.
I guess the person can't put money into 一卡通, he only sell ticket of Airport Express.
