Windmills is causing this. I bet the energy being taken out of our atmosphere by the conversion of wind energy to electric power is causing the volume of air to shrink.

Actually I just pulled that out of my rear end but sounds as realistic as global warming.

Not wind mills, but the wing nuts on the poles of the globe being too tight.
Doubt it, just look at any globe in the schools. What dfo you see? Wing nuts on the north and south pole.
