LAS VEGAS, Nevada (CNN) -- Former football great O.J. Simpson, convicted of armed robbery and kidnapping, deserves leniency in sentencing as he is a first-time offender who showed no criminal intent, his attorney says in court papers.

O.J. Simpson should receive a six-year sentence in a 2007 hotel room confrontation, his attorney says.

It's cool to think about how he is in some tiny cell where denial and reality clash, driving him mad. Tossing and turning, unable to rest, mind racing.

13 smug years now it's payback. Watch out. Libs, your day will come too.

I’m inclined to go with leniency on this one. Yes, I know, he got away with murder last time. But this is a separate incident. I actually always felt he was railroaded a bit on this deal, to make up for his get-out-of-jail-free on the last trial.

But I suppose what goes around, comes around. And he certainly deserves to spend the rest of his life in jail.

I thought the same thing for a moment, but OJ thinks he can get away with anything now, just as tomorrow, if the SCOTUS rules the wrong way, zeroBama will think the same way.

Above all I feel sorry for that man’s children...dad nearly chops off their mom’s head and fourteen years later, ends up in prison for what may be the rest of his life. A broken home if there ever was one. I wonder how much, if at all, they’ve forgiven him for the abuse. In any case, a hell of a psychological burden to deal with.

“Does Mr. Simpson’s attorney wear curly red hair, a powdery white face, a round red nose”

What does Ronald McDonald have to do with this?

What happened to OJ Simpson?

He cracked.

His hold on celebrity was fading, his businesses were starting to turn south and his somewhat flighty ex-wife had the temerity to tool around Brentwood with her younger lover in his sports car.

There are actually some degree of resemblance between OJ’s sordid tale and Shakespeare’s “Othello”. In this case, however, the part of Iago was played by OJ’s own bloated vanity.

“What does Ronald McDonald have to do with this?”

Pardon me. I should have been more specific. I was referring to his brother, Bozo.

OJ and Obama have a lot in common,

One murdered...one didn’t. For all the negative Obama has and the list is long, I would not call him a murderer.

I’d love to see the look on his face when he meets his maker.

He was complicit in murder. Ask all the people murdered shortly after Odinga’s election in Kenya which Obama campaigned for. The Odinga people literally slaughtered hundreds of people when he lost his election.

Obama - Freedom of Choice. If he makes a really big deal out of this and pushes for it to be passed . . . .

He was convicted of multiple crimes.

I know. And maybe "railroaded" is a bit strong of a word to use, considering that weapons and force were involved. But apparently, the stuff he "stole" belonged to him in the first place. I haven't followed this terribly closely, but I haven't heard anyone say differently. But I could be wrong.

It was ALL about COLOR then.

They wanted JUSTICE for what they perceived were PAST injustices and not judging the crime NOW despite the evidence that convicted him.

“I haven’t followed this terribly closely,”

So you’re speaking out of ignorance. Since when is it lawful to use force, including kidnapping, to try and settle a dispute or disagreement? Never, which is why his posterior is going to be locked up. Simpson could have easily called the police, or filed a lawsuit. If the law was on his side, why didn’t he take appropriate legal action? He’s a thug.

The stuff wasn’t his. He sold it to the guy. This was a scam he had pulled on other people, sell them memorabilia and then later claim it was stolen and settle out of court. The guy they attacked this time wasn’t falling for the old con line, he and others set OJ up, they knew he would try to get his stuff back and he did. If he had a real claim on it, why didn’t he just file a complaint and press charges?

Oh really? If that was the case, then I would say that the "robbery" thing WAS appropriate.

The potential problem I saw is that we now seem to have justice and discipline systems in this country that sometime just aren't just.

On the one hand, we give murderers and rapists slaps on the wrist (just as we did with Simpson earlier). On the other, we throw kids out of school for taking charge of a knife that another student was going to use and putting it in their locker, for drawing pictures of rifles. We ruin the life of a teacher whose computer gets porn-producing spyware on it. We take laws designed to combat organized crime and use them to bankrupt pro-life demonstrators and put them behind bars. We make refusal to participate in an abortion a crime. We make self-defense a felony.

Anyway, the "armed robbery" charge he was convicted on seemed as if it might be a little bit fishy if the stuff was actually his. But I do understand the rationale of violence used; and if it wasn't his stuff in the first place, hey, I've got no problem with putting this sorry excuse for a human being behind bars, for a long time to come.

The cheers were payback to the man.

Payback for what, exactly? That "the man" will always be held responsible for every problem in the black intercity neighborhoods? Maybe some viewed OJ's acquittal on murder charges as reverse justice for the high percentage of blacks in prison. Blame that on "the man", also.

I wonder if his sisters who were present in the courtroom this week actually believe he is innocent in the deaths of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman. What do his children now believe? Have they all asked him if he has searched for the real killer?
