When I was much younger, they would send you a questionnaire about your health and when you sent that back with the fee, they would mail you a new license.
I don't know if the written test is dependent on age or not. I took the written test 5 years ago too.
We don’t even have to show up evey other license renewal. Every 8 years we go in for a new photo and eye test and $47 and we’re in like Flynn.
