Seasonal Lament
The wind sings a chill song, among the branches bare
And the ice and snow are monochromatic terror
The storm rages and the temperature plunges again
And the bitter wind just wantonly increases it din
Savage the stark winter in its artic madness most felt
A threat in a heavy hand most assuredly hard dealt
Air so cold its steals away so much of your breath
It reminds you that amid the whiteness hides death
A voice on the radio complains of global warming again
As if natural forces are all mans own claim to some sin
Yet the winter comes and warming is gone like their logic
And the carping tone and accusations could make one sick
Frostbite reality sinks into our bones as we seek some relief
We hide in the warmth of a place for a moment most brief
Oh stop bitching about the warming so absent you moron
And let us get on with surviving to another chill dawn
I will be back sometime this afternoon. Thank you all for your wonderful posts, which I hope to answer - as well as post the holidays for today - TWO MORE DAYS! :)
