Hi everyone! TGIF! GBA- thanks for all the great music! Rus always read & appreciate the devotional each day -- did you get my FR a few days ago?
Just came across this - repeat for many of you but imp to know
Not For Fido
It may be hard to resist when your furry friend looks up at you with those sweet eyes, wanting just a nibble of whatever you happen to be eating, but sometimes you must not give in to temptation.
Some foods can actually poison your pet. That's why it is best to stick to a diet recommended by your veterinarian, but if you do share a bite from time to time, give such snacks as cooked, lean meat, plain bread, rice or pasta. Be sure to avoid the following foods:
* Candy any treat containing the artificial sweetener Xylitol can cause your pet's blood sugar to drop, leading to seizures and possibly death.
* Chocolate yes, this urban legend is true. Large quantities of chocolate, especially dark or baking chocolate is dangerous to dogs and cats.
* Grapes and raisins even a single serving of grapes or raisins is enough to lead to kidney failure. Never give these to your pet.
* Nuts walnuts and macadamia nuts are especially toxic, but any nuts should be avoided.
* Onion can destroy an animal's red blood cells causing anemia, weakness and breathing difficulties
Good Morning Dolly :)
Thanks so much for this info. I didn't know about the nuts.
I wish you and your Mom a Merry Christmas!
Dolly, thank you for the reminder of things we should
NOT give our pets. I think the poinsettia is also poison, but not sure.
I also wanted to thank you for your pictures of your hike (was it yeserday - or two days ago?) I love seeing your 'furry kids' romp and play! I'm so far behind now, I'll probably never catch up. Happy Friday!
