I still have lots to do before I think about Christmas.
Having Marissa’s birthday party Saturday. Her BD is Sunday. Then next Sunday, we go to the Christmas Tea.
I hope to do most of the shopping I have left online. I can do this while she is in school next week (I hope).
Thanks Amy....I sure miss this place when I have to stay away, but we must sometimes!!?? Bwaaaaa!
When you make your next batch, how about sending some California way. :^ )
Meg, all the antiques I have in my home have a story behind them. Like the little pair of worn leather baby shoes, with porcelain buttons up the side. They belonged to a baby that was in the care of his grandma, and she let her grandkids play in the mud, climb trees and paint pictures. The shoes are very worn, but the story behind them, tells of a grandmother who had a great deal of love for her grandchildren.
I love when antiques are passed down the family chain, appreciated by the offspring, as are yours.
Thanks, Meg.
The temps fluctuating so much makes it difficult to know what to wear. This was a problem when I worked but now I just stay in as much as possible and dress in layers.
Uh Huh .... smells kinda like a turkey farm.
Have you ever smelled a chicken farm?
I’m finding it difficult to be here as much as I feel I should. Bwaaaaa is right.
Oh how I remember that from Saturday Night Live! Too funny!
When I was a kid we had some pigs but it was not really a pig farm.
We live near dairies now and sometimes they get pretty bad. WE are not close enough to be bothered by the smell ... but when you drive by ..... oh my.
She was fantastic on SNL!
Pigs are pretty clean and there two places I know of that have handfuls of pigs and there’s no smell unless it’s hot and the pen need cleaning. Commercial farms can’t keep up with it.
I grew up between dairy farms and like the smell. Like anything else it can get bad, too, obviously.
I can’t remember where I saw a scorpion except in pictures.
I am sure they hang out somewhere....just not where I’ve been! :D
I think we kinda think alike sometimes! LOL!
Are ya scared yet? :D
I am not familiar with ‘pig farms’ but I love country ham~~LOL~~
I have one oof my mother’s 5 button shoes she had bronzed..I love it. It’s good to have the stories to go with your antiques..
My great grandmother’s chair, my mother’s loveseat and a round small table of my grandmother’s are in my bedroom..My daughter has my grandmother’s small desk..Both children have made mirrors out of large antique picture frames that my grandmother had..Every antique item mother saved has been used by someone in the family. I was an all new furniture person when I had my first home..my children were not that way.
My son and his wife have been going toward antiques for years..Most are not”fine” ones but are family pieces that came from hard working farm families.
Ever have roast pig? It’s heaven.
No, but I have seen pictures of them and there is no doubt that I would love it. I have a small pkg. of country ham in the fridge that I plan to have on biscuits sometime tomorrow.
I don’t eat it much, but was glad they started making small pkgs. for people like me.
Melts in your mouth.
