As soon as I saw the term “Observer” in connection with a helicopter, I thought of the term JAFO. It was used in a movie from the ‘70’s. I can’t remember the name, but I do remember it was lame.

I believe the Movie was Blue Thunder.

It would seem tame, now, because all the sci-fi (1984 style) stuff they could do on the bird (for the time it was made) is commonplace now. Thermal imaging, laser surveillance by picking up vibrations in glass, and more, is reality and being used today.

The violation of Fourth Amendment Rights in the show is pretty much moot today, as those Rights are routinely violated today as a result of the war on Drugs/terror/tax cheats/toenail fungus, whatever.

Cheer up, there was a time when 'Big brother is watching you' was the premise of a horror story.

Yes, things have changed that much.
