There is a huge body of knowledge on this site. Would like to know your favorite guitar solos. Please list: -name of song -band -player
It is all good... great discussion.
But, for me, nothing is better than Jimmy Hendrix Red House, it is what every guitarist should try to achieve.
Nobody can.
Phil Keaggy
Yes!
For sheer musical *beauty*, his playing on Little Wing is my fave.
I have to re focus on it... I’ve been stuck on Red House and Joe for the past few years... crazy, but it is soo good.
Oh — Leo Kotke!!
As a teen I always used to catch his concert around Christmas time with a special girl. He sure could play - but like he used to say - his voice sounded like goose farts on a foggy morning! (Actually he wasn’t THAT bad!).
Good music gets hold of you.
After *all* these years, the intro to Don’t Fear The Reaper *never* fails to send chills down my spine.
Can’t think of one other song that does that.
Can’t explain it but there it is.
Ummm, that wouldn't have happened to be The Who show at Holmdel NJ just before Labor Day 2002, would it?
I was at that concert, 26th row, and lemme tell ya as a long time Who fan and concert goer ... that Holmdel 2002 show was one of the *hottest* Who concerts that I'd ever witnessed! Townshend was completely on fire that night, as was Daltry ... an awesome Who show, one that (dare I say it?) might even rank up there with Live at Leeds (sans Moon and OX)
