The hard part is taking the case apart. The rest of it is pretty much color-coded. Sorta.

Maybe Sunday, I can catch the guy at church and have him tell me how to do it, and maybe loan me the recovery discs. I just can’t be without my own computer. And I don’t like Vista!!

This is true for computer repair but has exceptions.

Righty Tighty.

Red light bad

Green light good.

One and sometimes two beeps good.

More than two beeps bad.

Smoke bad.

Got 5's? The 555 was a great little all-purpose timer IC, but I digress.

Cases, ugh. The house server is in a no-tool case, which means every time I have to open it up I have to re-learn the non-obvious procedures for opening it. Went through that last weekend when its hard-drive cable worked loose again.

Banner day here! One little 20-page report to read & digest and my in-basket is EMPTY!!! (Well, except for the huge stack of unread magazines and journals.) I haven't managed this in years.
