The NCAA format has it all over the NFL's. Its quicker, fairer, and works every time its tried.

It's also silly.

I see no reason why it's "unfair" to expect the special teams and defense of the kicking team in overtime to hold off the receiving team.

The tradeoff is that usually if the team kicking off in OT can hold the other team to a “three and out”, they should get the ball in great field position.
