Ok. Do you think that a person should be forced to take a job if offered and get off welfare?

parsy, who thinks so if the job is at a livable wage.

Yes, with a caveat concerning the nature of the work; there was an incident in Germany a couple of years ago about a woman being kicked off off welfare after being offered a job as a prostitute. I think we can all agree that that should not happen.

At the same time, I think the best way to get people off of welfare is to educate them so that they can get better jobs. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

P.S. thank you for the question! This is exactly the sort of thing that needs to be discussed, and hasn’t been, this year.
