Dumb idea. Basically every moderate has been picked off by liars on the left.

Wrong.

Before too long even Sarah will turn out to not be “conservative” enough for the third-party types.

How do I know?

History.

Why?

If your roof has a leak, do you build a new house?

If you crash your car and bang up the front end, do you scrap it?

Now that the mods have left and a bunch of people were voted out of office, is there anything really left of the GOP?

It’s ripe for rebuilding cause all the moderates are gone for the most part.

useless crybaby nonsense.

get together your like minded supporters and form a caucus INSIDE the republican party.

THINK.

Consider how palin was vetted by conservatives on the religious front.

Now project a conservative caucus in the same republican party having that type of approval power.

The republican clubs across the nation are yours for the taking IF YOU ARE WILLING TO QUIT WHINING AND WORK.
All politics are local.

(now where is my free gasoline?)

No we need to reconstruct the Republican Party. It is time to get back to the SMALL GOVERNMENT, FISCAL CONSERVATIVE that the GOP was known for. The Social CONSERVATIVES are what is causing the REPUBLICANS to lose!!

Time for the SMALL GOVERNMENT REPUBLICANS to take over the GOP!!

Actually, I find myself wondering if the best chance for success isn’t for social conservatives to register Democrat and get socially conservative Democrats elected in primaries. Other than the far left and special interests, the thing that seems to keep a lot of blue collar social conservatives from voting Republican is the idea that the Republicans are the party of the rich, which is why the economic meltdown became an albatross around McCain’s neck, but building a whole new party is nearly impossible.

It’s time to rebuild the Republican Party. If that can’t be done, then the Republicans will have to go the way of the Whigs and a new conservative party will be formed. But don’t give up on the Republicans without trying to save them first.

I think it’s time for a purge of the party. The GOP needs to get back to being the Don’t Tread on Me party, the party that seeks to get the government out of your wallet, out of your bedroom, and out of your gun locker. The GOP needs to start selling itself as more libertine than anything else. Right now the problem is that the GOP is counting on affluent suburbanites voting their economic interests and it’s clear that is not a winning strategy in this country today. It is odd for a country that still has an affinity for being left alone that the big brother party is seen as a desirable political choice.

Republicans do well when we’re the party that thinks you’re smart enough to take care of yourself economically, but also when it comes to other choices in your life. There is no reason why the GOP should be losing people who are undoubtedly going to see their taxes increase by voting for the other guy. The GOP needs to find a better way to handle social issues.

I think the GOP does need to start stressing a defense of our constitutional liberties in the face of illiberal left wing aggression. The GOP also needs to start running down the Democrat brand hardcore going forward. When we hit the recession, it’s the Democrat recession. It’s the extremist Democrat Congress that wants to tear up the constitution to promote their radical left wing agenda. When Obama capitulates to whatever terrorist group or two bit dictator, the GOP needs to call him on it instead of playing the loyal opposition bit. If he does opt to use force, hang him out to dry.

One does not win in American politics by playing nice.

It’s really about the only way that conservatives can shake the bad name that has been unfairly and at times fairly given to Republicans. You know, start over. Of course there might have to be a civil war first.
