I had to control my keyboard when today a former neighbor I've known for years sent me a link to a Palin Parrot video and another one. I watched the one, knowing it was going to be insulting, and it was. I felt really offended, like it's the last straw, he's sent me that crap before about male candidates, and I just ignored it.
I wrote a response and then decided not to send it, but what makes me the maddest is that he assume I would welcome that sh!t, probably has no clue I'm a Republican.
It's worse than that. I have a Catholic therapist who gets all gushy over Dem candidates. I cancelled my last appointment because I just couldn't deal with it. Otherwise she's nice. Where will I ever find a Republican therapist that will accept medicare?
That doesn't factor in my family, won't go there. It's not all about politics with them but partly.
Yes, I do have friends who are voting for Obama. It is difficult to know how to react to “friends” who want to raise my taxes and steal my liberty.
Hang in there!
Try a therapist who is Christian, but not necessarily Catholic. chances are you will find one who is pro life and most likely conservative.
and don’t feel embarassed to ask the therapist before you start, “ are you conservative? “ You will get a response, and then you can explain, you don’t want to talk politics in your therapy, but you would feel more comfortable with a conservative.
OUCH. Check out Christian Medical Association, for a start.
Most psychology has a secular worldview at heart and the battle for the mind is a spiritual one.
