We never have pecan pie anymore. That's always been my favorite too. All this food talk, maybe I'll get that for this year. I don't know if I could make it. I'll buy one from a farm stand. It will be fresh baked.

GeeBee, my recipe is easy, but it is the absolute best Pecan Pie recipe I have ever eaten, and there is no way, nor any need, to even try another one. It is my family recipe and I don’t know how many years we’ve been making it! Here, if you are interested:

I make my own pie crust, but I have also used Pillsbury’s refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts for a 9-inch pie - just unroll), because it’s really not too bad! LOL

Pecan Pie ~ 350 degrees ~ 1 hour

1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 cup (white) Karo syrup
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup melted BUTTER (NOT margarine)
3 eggs (VERY WELL BEATEN)
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup chopped pecans (please do not use ‘store-bought’!)

Mix sugar, karo & salt. Add melted butter and blend well. Add eggs and vanilla. Blend well. Add pecans, stir, and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake until knife comes out clean. (about 1 hour, but check at 50 - 55 minutes)
