That's news to Arabic Christians who read in their Arabic language version of John 3:16 that Allah so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son... Isn't Allah just the Arabic word for god? So, it's like in English where we distinguish between God (for the Judeo-Christian God) and god (for Zeus, for example). I wonder if a pagan god would be referred to as a lower-case allah in Arabic?
