Yep. They remind me of the old witch "swimmers." Mobs hot on the trail of witchcraft would take accused women, strip them down, tie one wrist to the opposite ankle and dump them in the water. If they floated, it was "proof" that they were witches; if they sank, they drowned -- they were doomed either way. These folks are the same as the witch-swimmers in their judgement of "proof" of yet-to-be-explained phenomena; it's guaranteed to lose. And like the witch hunters, their personal hostility is amazing. They accuse people like my husband of being delusional lame-brains at best, blatant liars at worst, and then accuse me of being "emotional" when I note the fact. They demand "proof" which they will NEVER IN A ZILLION YEARS accept as genuine, regardless.

They are backed into a corner where they must openly insult the personal honor and integrity of a lot of very good people to defend their own prejudices and lack of experience. I might just as well insult the person who's seen a thousand-dollar bill because I myself have never seen one. Ah well. They're still on our side with regard to Obama (I wish they'd remember that), so that's worth remembering for me.
