I just voted early!
vanity

Posted on 10/20/2008 12:06:31 PM PDT by tamu95_mom

This is my first post ever, so forgive me if it is posted incorrectly.

I live in Austin, TX and today is the first day of early voting. I just voted and was really disheartened to see lots of Obama bumper stickers in the parking lot, and none for McCain. I am really worried that there will be a huge turnout for Obama, and I am praying for our country that the McCain side will be mobilized enough to come out and vote. I know we have the numbers to win the election, I just hope that people are motivated enough to vote!

Also, when I was in line, I saw someone with an Obama t-shirt on. I pulled aside a pollworker and verified that this is not allowed. She went and talked with the head person in charge and they had him turn the t-shirt inside out. The problem was that you could see the Obama logo quite plainly through the white t-shirt, so turning it inside out did nothing. Not a super a big deal, but it shows the ignorance of the Obama voter, and the inability of the polling place to control this type of "campaigning."

More motivated than ever!

Got about 40 friends lined-up and giving rides to anyone who needs/wants it.

I think the turn-out from Republicans will be HUGE!!!!

Isn't that like a "I'm With Stupid" shirt?

Welcome to the forum. Relax, Austin is the most liberal spot in Texas. Obama’s got no hope here or nationally.

Oh, and who cares about their little bumper stickers and t-shirts.

Simply more propaganda for the foolish and misinformed.

We know the democrat voter is the most uninformed of all.

That's to be expected in the liberal hot bed of Travis County. You'll see a different sight in Williamson.

But, you live in Austin. There isn’t a more liberal place in this country outside of Berkely. Austin will certainly go for Obama ... but Texas will EASILY go for McCain. I wouldn’t fret about it too much.

Austin is barely part of Texas.

Some Republicans have been intimidated with vandalism and threats of violence for displaying McCain-Palin election materials on their car or home. This was the same Democrat Brownshirt activity we saw in 2004. It didn’t keep Republicans from turning out on election day and totally overpowering the Democrat presence at the polls.

The silent majority.

The McCain supporters are at work. Someone has to pay for the bailout and the gov’t giveaways!

Agreed. Do not worry in Austin. Lib spot. We had the same thing in S. FL in 2004. It was bad with paid MoveOn thugs and Kerry voters at early polling. It seemed like a lot of Kerry voters were there in the early days.

LOL! I love the “got no hope” line.

Everybody - Volunteer & Donate.

Make sure we are all at local McCain HQ helping out with GOTV the weekend before the election. If you are retired - volunteer now. Ignore the polls.

Ignore the MSM - in the next few weeks they will go into overdrive fawning over Obama. Be prepared.

Yes it is a violation.

I had to point out that Democrats were leaving endorsement materials inside the polling centers one time (they discretely "set them down" as they walk by).

Don't be too depressed. Many conservatives are a bit more quiet in their politics and recognize Christ as being more important than a president. They show their allegience by going to church, helping others and so forth. Liberals, on the other hand, have to show that they belong to something bigger than themselves, and this time around it just happens to be Obama. Too bad many of them don't know the Lord.

Well in Austin, you have a strong liberal turnout, with UT and the liberal yuppies.

I live in Texas and we will vote for McCain, but there are plenty of Obama yard signs in very good parts of town. It makes me sad and my sister called this morning saying same thing in Dallas when she voted this morning. Lots of Obama fans.

I see landslide and with all the cheating going on we don’t have a chance!
