When I was young, I came face to face with a giant bright orange sun like ‘ball lightening’ running down the power lines out in the country. It went nearly direct overhead. Needless to say I was sure it was aliens, until dad straightened me out. But I was suspicious for years — The sound it made had to be real aliens.
It wasn’t until many years later when I saw another giant bright green ‘ball lightening’ galloping across a field and suck up on a power line, that I realized all along what it was. That was close.
These things really are scary for the unaware.

Have you ever talked to physicists most likely to be knowledgeable about such?
The one’s I’ve talked to declare that “ball lightening”
is a hoax from the authorities to distract people away from the reality.
That there’s no such thing.
Whatever it is, it’s not lightening.
