I apologize in advance for the vanity, but....
I watched the debates last night. I thought that McCain did extremely well. Then, I turned on the after-debate spin, and the general opinion (even from FOX) was that the debate was, at best, a "tie".
CNN, surprisingly enough, was a little more "fair and balanced"....but still, the prevailing opinion was that McCain lost.
About the only thing that I wish McCain did better was to focus. He tends to get sidetracked. But - just mentioning things like Ayers and ACORN, will force them to be addressed by the MSM, I think.
Did anyone else see something I nissed? Was I watching a different debate?
I thought he did great. Especially when he told BHO that he was not Bush and he should have run 4 years ago against him.
I also thought he did very well during the first debate.
I thought he was awful, but I think I was just too caught up in the process. After stepping back, I can see that he did get some things out on the table that weren’t there before.
However, I find his inability to articulate a coherent rebuttal to Obama’s devastatingly idiotic plans to be very frustrating. I still saw Obama drop the ball many times and McCain hand it back to him instead of taking it for a touchdown.
So, he did some of what needed to be done and I’m glad for that. He got a lot of folks on our side fired up a bit, which is good. But dammit, how the hell hard is it to slap that stupid 95% of all Americans thing down??
I'm in NC. Two or three months ago, I'd have said Obama signage, stickers, etc outnumbered McCain at least 5-1. Now I'd say it's 50-50, with maybe a slight edge to McCain.
The Republicans are late coming to this party, and I wonder if the pollsters have not figured that out yet.
Good luck trying to get the merchants of agitprop to admit it.
Usually see about 2 OB stickers and no MP stickers on my 300 mile commute through the central valley. Last Friday I saw 1 OB, 1 MP, 1 GOP and 1 Nadar.
Did that hit the news last night? I've only seen it this morning. McCain may not have gotten the news of that yet.
BUT - after thinking about it a little - addressing that particular issue allows Obama to talk about "how he's going to give money to all of the little people". Call him Robin Hood instead of "Senator Government".
People vote their wallet...so not providing Obama with an opening might have been a good move. Of course, I may be giving one or both of them entirely too much credit.
Watched debates 2 and 3.
Last night I felt McCain did well, was the aggressor, with BHO being defensive, shallow and tentative.
McC scored with his “eloquent, but listen to his words”,
His angry retort about BHO’s characterizating insult to McC’s audiences.
McCain did win this debate easily. Obama answered very few questions and lied on other answers.
Like the old saying goes, “people get the kind of Government they deserve”. If there are more Marxists and uneducated voters then Capitalists and intelligent voters, (not to mention voter fraud for Obama) on Election Day, then Obama will win.
I think that Mccain/Palin need to start also trying to reach seniors more. There are so many older people that don’t have access to internet or cable and do not hear any of the issues with Obama. They watch local tv and think everything is truth.
I couldn’t believe the poll I just saw on KRON 4, a San Francisco station of all things!
Who won the debate?
McCain 56 percent
Obama 41 percent
Don’t know what the other three percent is.
He not only hit it out of the park, he put the ball in ORBIT.
He completely pasted Fauxbama last night, that’s what I expected from McCain in all the debates, I don’t know why he waited until th third one to show up.
Did anyone else catch Fauxbama snickering when McCain brought up Voter Fraud and ACORN? Apparently tampering with elections is comical to Mr. Fauxbama.
I noticed that. I also noticed that he answered a lot of McCain's challenges with "That's a Lie" or "That's not true"....then didn't back it up. The equivalent of 1st grade debate - "You're a liar, neener neener neener."
Obama was very weak, I thought.
I'm feeling a little better here. I tell ya, last night I wondered if I was missing the boat entirely.
McCain won...but did not knock it out of the park. He missed so many great ops it was kind of sad.
That's the kind of stuff that I'm looking for.....
I think this was the first thread posted before 3PM.

BHO was also making hand gestures but couldn’t tell what he was doing because of the screen cover on both of TV. I was watchin on C-span and for some reason the screen showed more of Mccain then BHO
McCain sure did hit it out of the park.
I found myself clapping at McCain and laughing and pointing at BO/BS.
Did you notice how BO talked in circles because after 2 seconds he did not know what else to say?
Did you notice he offered no historical background as McCain did? BO has no knowledge of history. He needs to put a “vacant” sign around his big ears.
I got annoyed at having to hear BO whistle after every “s” sound.
No. There were a lot of others.
