We’ve got coyotes here, too. Right on the coast of NC. They’re bigger than the western coyotes. These look like mangy, starving German Shepherds. I’ve read it’s becasue they cross bred with wolves.
Have also seen pics of the smaller ones here. Almost foxlike in appearance. Reddish colored, you have to look close to see the difference.
