a bit darker then my usual poems, but you can judge.
In the Balance
Like a heart in joy, a heart in pain is filled
from wall to wall, the price of grief is billed
and we all pay that price, knowing it will hurt
when its our own heart there in the dirt
A tear is a unspoken wish for relief so full
that we can stand, once the pain is dull
such is the hope of a tattered heart and soul
tired of the load, tired of the never unpaid toll
I like it..and who cannot relate?
I don’t know, WJ, your poetry truly strikes me as wonderful. There’s a ‘flavor’ to your style that is comforting, wish I could describe my feelings about it. I always want to read more of your work.
