The current issue of Scientific American has an interesting article on a hypothesized new type of matter called spacetime atoms that supposedly explain quantum mechanics, the big band and the origins of the universe.

Although Glen Miller and the Dorsey brothers’ big bands were almost good enough to create new worlds!
