It's completely separate from the computer--it does have to plug into your internet router, but then it works on its own. Basically lets you watch any of the Instant Watch Neflix stuff on the TV like a DVR or Tivo device. Would only be Netflix, though, and personally I don't like the idea of buying something that's so tied to one service...but I guess it's no different than the cable company DVRs....

I think I’ll likely spend Saturday watching at least part of the last season (minus stoopid Lee stuff) and *then* watch the new episode. It was getting pretty complicated toward the end.
