I leave the rifle in the case of course. Why do I need to check out the yardage?
Texas laws specifically state you can use deadly force to defend yourself and others. It doesn’t say a thing about shooting at anything that requires a scope. That’s not a defensive situation.

During the Rodney King riots, the Korean merchants successfully defended their positions with semi-auto rifles. At the very least, you should consider keeping your rifle uncased and loaded.

If there was a crowd coming down the street torching and looting everything in their path, I can’t say that I would agree with you. No, I don’t think that I would wait for them to get within 100 feet of my home either.
