This was being discussed this morning, on Ottawa talk radio, and all of the callers were incensed.

The host mentioned tourism is down 40% in BC this year. I can’t imagine why. /s

Two score years ago, a very charismatic former constitutional law professor and part time labour organizer became Prime Minister of Canada. He was so charismatic and such a good speaker (in both official languages) that young women fainted at all of his personal appearances. This self-identified socialist, Harvard graduate and draft dodger had previously traveled extensively in communist China, and eventually became friends with Fidel Castro.

Among the many things that this PM did was to open the border to draft dodgers from the U.S. Over 50,000 dodgers made the trek north. The consequences of this invasion were devastating, and lingering. Many of the invading dodgers became very involved in student politics on Canadian University campuses — with the overt goal of “radicalizing” the student body. A large number of them actually became university professors & passed their ideology on through their “teaching” (indoctrination programming). An entire generation of Canada was thus indoctrinated by the most extreme antiwar, anti-American, socialist Americans of the time.
