I was looking at a 9mm for Mrs Bear. The dealer suggested a light weight 38 revolver instead (forget the model). I’ve done rapid malfunction clears. I’d rather not have her need to worry about it.
Her eyes lit up when she examined the weapon. I’m gonna keep her.
;-)
I don’t think many here know much about your wife. If she is like my wife, she wants a point and shoot weapon that doesn’t require much maintenance and or special consideration in a desparate moment.
A .38 hammerless snub-nosed revolver is lights out as a self defense weapon for a woman, especially if she is going to get liscensed and carry (IMO). There is nothing sexy about it(the gun), per se. But pull, point and shoot. No jambs, no cocking, no hammer to catch the keys in the purse on the way out, etc. If one round doesn’t fire, pull the trigger again and repeat.
All that said, there are differnt comfort levels for different folks. Good luck. Be safe.
