Guess you’ll have to put up a few nails to hang up all these kitties and people, Meg. You know what they say “the more the merrier”. You must be taking it all in with joy! Families are the joy of our life.
I told you the other day my son was on his way to Louisiana and he made it day before yesterday. He called me when he got there (I had asked him to). He called again last night after their first day’s work. His job is hard....they have to grade all the installations and work that has been done regarding cable, etc. He was a bit down last night because none had passed the grade. There are rules for grading and its your job to be truthful or you can be in big trouble.
He did say he was going to get some good cajun food while they were there.
Glad your son is safely in Louisiana getting some good Cajun food.
My SIL arrived n of Houston just in time to move a car so a tree could be removed on their garage roof ..They are preparing all the lines in neighborhoods to be ready to receive power..The main transmission stations are damaged and even if their neighborhood is ready ..they must wait.
The fire marshal made the neighbors sharing lines to generators stop..Some had hooked up at least refrigerators and fans to a neighbors large gasoline generator...
They still have no land line phone service.
Yukky trash from the fridge may sit for awhile..I’ve been through this before with a long outage there and trash pickup is not on schedule.
Getting gas is still a long wait..even miles north from their house.
I hope he can get his knee seen to today and get back tonight. Usually he would be flying out as he does so weekly..The company seems to understand surgery and a hurricane does create problems!
I am just grateful they could get away from the mess and heat and stay with me.
I am accustomed to my cat lady daughter and her kitties ..My kitty played surrogate mom to the ones coming here with my SIL..but now they are adults and all bets are off.Fur will fly I am predicting. ..
I hope the good Cajun food improved your son’s day ad that things will start to improve.
