Thanks, Billie. Nope, no grits. I tried them the last time I visited Nan at a Bob Evan's restaurant. Nan said I would love them. I didn't. LOL. It must be an acquired taste. ;-)

But, what I didn't mention was that Mr.WVNan also prepared dinner for us one night; hog jowl, blackeye peas with Vidalia onions, cornbread and fried green tomatoes. This was a meal like we'd never had before, and quite good. I am not very adventurous when it comes to trying new food, but it was all very tasty. And, the green tomatoes were grown by Nan herself!

We love grits here in Tennessee. We like them with eggs, we like them with gravy and we like them alone. I like them sometimes with a little butter, sugar and cream. But those that don’t like them never will. And thats fine with me.

LOL I remembered you and 'grits' from the last time. (I've never eaten them before either)

I also am NOT very adventurous when it comes to new food either. (well, unless it's dessert! LOL) I'm not sure I want to try hog jowl, and don't like onions at all, but I'd be happy with the blackeyed peas, cornbread and fried green tomatoes (though I've never had fried green tomatoes either)
