Hi Billie. I’ll look for the graphic in The Finest archives when I get a chance.
Thanks for the pings!
& Co Fair;other reply, comments.
& Congrats to Marissa for coming in 2nd place with Her entry.
I read that...how fun!
I am finally finding the pings that were invisible to me for several days and am glad to see a note from you.
I understand the emotionally drained feeling and how difficult this can be. Let Jesus be your Comfort at this time, one day at a time. Thinking of you, OESY, and sending gentle {{hugs}}.
That is such a sweet picture, Jaycee, thank you so much!!
How wonderful that these great messages that were lost are now found!! (((Hugs))).
Saw lots of bunnies at the county fair yesterday, lots of goats, pigs, chickens, sheeps, horses, mules and I have a very exciting story to tell re cows!!
What do you mean? There's only one!!
:-) Right?
Now, there’s a song, and great pic to go with.
I had an amazing time at the L.A. County Fair yesterday, the highlight of which was a baby calf being born right in fron of my eyes!! Here she is, Baby Girl Holstein:-)
Pretty little calf! Glad you had a good time at the Fair.
I knew I would miss someone... pinging you to 2509.
Thanks for the ping. : )
If I had professional photog equipment and not just the phone camera (but thank God for that anyway), you would see what a SWEET face this baby has. I was going Goo-Goo over her. This calf slipped out of momma literally at my feet... two inches in front of my toes!!!
What a miracle and coincidence of timing. I had been to the horse show, which was wonderful, and was wandering through the livestock pens. I entered the cow barn out of mild curiosity only and found myself in front of the “Maternity Pen.”
Now, we could see this cow was very much with child. She stood up, she laid down, rolled over on her side, could not get comfortable. Some others standing by made comments. A girl next to me said, “Wow, what if she gave birth right now? That would be worth the price of admission.” They had posted her due date as Oct. 1 on the pen wall. Another gal said, “wouldn’t it be trippy if she gives birth while we are here.”
Next thing, you know, Bossie stood up, turned around and here was a big bubble coming out of her back end. That was the sac. She laid down and soon we saw front hoofs. Someone called over the guys who were minding the barn. They said, let Nature take its course, and it did not take long. I am feeling emotional now remembering that Moment that the baby came out, so smooth and beautiful!!
The men stepped in only to move her over onto the hay, then stepped out so mother could do her job and they could bond.
Wow.
What a wonderful experience..and I love your telling of it, Dita.
Yes it was, Conor. So nice to see you.
Wish I had more time to visit online, but am mostly post and run, always hoping to have more time:-).
P.S. It is a little known fact that calves are very blurry during the first moments of life.... Heh heh.
LOL!
Hi Amy.. We had a good day went to a wedding and just got home. I’m glad to see we can finish off the month at the original thread.
