Alicia was a snoozer

I guess that depends on your damage. Hurricane Alicia....We left our mobile home and drove across Houston to my BILs house. It took us almost all day to get back home. We were surprised that the trailer was still standing until we opened the door. The roof had hinged open and we flooded. No electricity or water for two weeks. The heat...the mosquitoes... the mud...the stench. No Fema...no free ice..... We thought we would be so happy when power came back on until it happened and fried all of our appliances. What a mess....

Yes, what a huge mess! But you were alive to rebuild. Some hurricanes take everything, like a huge tornado, leaving nothing but flat where neighborhoods were. During Rita my brother-in-law’s sister’s house was picked up and moved about a mile north of where it sat. She lives in Cameron. No one can survive things like that.
