My neighbor had relatives evacuating from Clear Lake before Rita. They got here just in time to have to evacuate again...good thing. Our street was hard hit--impassable for 3 days--big trees on houses and in streets.

I left and will if one comes this way again --in a NY minute!

Smart idea! It’s hard to know the terror of a bad hurricane when most Houstonians have only witnessed Alicia. It’s been over 45 years since I’ve been in a bad hurricane and I’m still terrified of being in another.
