I saw (and kept) many of the photos of people choosing to leap to their deaths, as well as many others I would rather not have seen. I felt it was necessary for me to understand what kind of enemy we faced.

Islam is not a religion nor is it peaceful, and I will stand by that to my death.

It’s odd that only truly Godless people attack us for our freedoms. Islam, of course, and communists. Being vigilant on our shores and borders is not enough. We need to be vigilant within.

The sooner we realize that 9/11 was more indicative of the character of historical Islam than merely some fringe sect, the better off we'll be. At present, we're still beating the drum of religious pluralism and diversity uber alles, so such a realization is unlikely.

I couldn't have said it any better.

The problem with Islam, and a few other religions, is that regardless of whom they worship as God, and regardless of what rules they claim to live by, they don’t really accept that all men are brothers and children of God.

They don’t accept that people need to be treated equally, and be equal before the law. That equal treatment before the law applies especially to women, who need it more than men.

And they don’t accept that the law MUST supersede their religious beliefs, because their religious regulations and proscriptions will protect them from others who believe the same way, but only a law that is greater than all religious proscriptions can protect everyone.
