"Turquoise field, castle silhouette in silver, three stars for the habitats...." I don't know about turquoise. I pictured a blue field, with a white orb in the upper left corner, a reddish one in the lower right, and three stylized habitats diagonally across the center. The one in the middle would have a tiny castle. Maybe it would have a silver ring around it, to represent the Thrust Ring.
The orbs would represent our quasi-settlement on the moon and the few settlers we left on Mars.

(I think Obama understands "root hog, or die" as well as anyone. He's number two at the trough.)

The Castle is where we are, so I was thinking that should be primary.
Turquoise is blue...there are many shades of blue, but in designing an enSIGN, (RAC...) we need to make sure our purpose is suggested.
Blue, in this case (almost any shade) is a neutral color.
Of course, if need be, there can be one flag with the castle on it, then below that, a pennant for each of the habitats.
That would prevent the main standard from being too busy, while still allowing the habitats to state their “claim to fame” as it were.
We might also want to consider a pennant for the bridge, as well.

(You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.)

Sounds like I may have to pull out the book on heraldry -- there's a standard language for describing such things: "On a field azure..."
