How COULD we fit “normality” guidelines?
We live in a Flying Castle with dwarves, zombies, dust bunnies, spider bots, a pliesiosaur, at least one basilisk, and the ever-necessary, self-supporting castle surrounds.
No need to bring things inside the keep in case of attack, because there won’t be one.
Everything that is of value is already “inside the keep”, with the possible notable exception of the shuttle thrusters.
But that doesn’t mean that we are not under threat. The same kind of threat that doomed Earth’s residents sixty-five million years ago, can imperil us today.
Fortunately, we theoretically have the option of moving out of the way. But there are other threats as well, from which we may not be able to escape. It would be prudent to expand humanity’s base far beyond our local star system in order to ensure our continuation in a truly long-term aspect.
