my thought exactly(except mine is a glock 19 9mm)...but, I do keep a phillips head screwdriver between my front seat and the console in my car (since I read most rapes/attacks occur in the front seat of a vehicle)

Packing a CCW is great - I do it every day. But the reality of most situations is that just about any attacker coming at you starting at 7 - 10 yards is likely to be on top of you before you clear leather and pull the trigger. Additionally, bullets don't automatically make a raging nutball drop like a sack of potatos.

These suggestions - especially retreating on a diagonal - can buy you the time and opportnity to get out of alive and physically undamaged.

If you find yourself in the middle of a fair fight, your stategy and tactics suck.
