It really depends on what you carry for a firearm. You are limited in size of firearm, and in the materials. Women pose an especially hard problem for CCW. Over the shoulder purses, fanny packs, or some 'Day-planner' types are too easily left, stolen or lost.

You might think about a vest for carry. There are some nice ones made for women.

What about CC vests?

Like these guys? I have a couple of their vests. WONDERFUL for carrying a larger auto or a larger revolver.

Concealed Carry Clothiers.

You may argue about the stopping power, but even a .32 on you is better than the 45 or 9mm you leave at home.

EXCELLENT POINT!!!

My experiences have been to have A firearm, even one of the little NAA mini-revolvers is better than a stick.

In hotter climates, it's a lot easier carrying a smallinsh pocket pistol rather than have your shorts droppiing from carrying that 1911.

The Kydex are excellent holsters, although kind of stiff and inflexible.

You also might think along these lines too.

This is my next purchase. Small, stainless, and pocketable. It's a lot smaller than what the picture shows. Seecamp size without the Seecamp price.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing. Either way, I can’t get them for another year, but (due to age restrictions on CCW permits) but I wanted to start planning on how, what kind, etc. What the name of the gun. I can’t read it.

Open carry is legal in PA as well, so I pretty much forget it’s there. If it prints, I don’t care, I’m legal no matter if it’s concealed, printing, or if my shirt rides up over it. I always wear it concealed, but it seems that 99% of people don’t wouldn’t notice a fire engine about to run them down so I don’t worry about it.

It's a bad habit to get into. Yes, you are legal in most areas in PA, but not all.

Do you ever carry into a Post Office? You're not allowed to, and if anybody noticed, then you potentially are in trouble

If you are in Philadelphia and you ever took a shortcut through Independence Park (where they have the Liberty Bell), guess what? It's federal land, and your permit is no good, and if one of the park police notices, then you're in trouble. In PA, you are also not allowed to carry in state parks (unless you are in a vehicle)

It's quite likely that you will find yourself inadvertently carrying into or through some area where you're not supposed to, in which case it would be good for you if your status was not noticed

The only ones I’ve seen attach only by hooking to a belt or requiring a belt to loop through it. Kind of a pain if you never wear a belt!

I picked up a nice Desantis IWB last weekend that works w/o a belt. Only problem I have is the hammer on my pistol digs into my side. Any solution to that?

That is the North American Guardian.

Here's some other choices from NAA.

A couple of possibilities are to add a piece of leather to cover the hammer where it pokes you or find a good gunsmitth to round off the sharp edges ot bob it.

Still looking for a "fanny pack" or a day planner option that doesn't make me want to turn in my "man card".

bwahahaha...

Thin built, jeans and t-shirt guys are a tough fit for full sized carry...

'Mexican' style w/empty chamber is lookin like the way to go for me...comfort and concealability wise...

LFOD...

I know exactly where I can and can’t legally take my firearm, and act accordingly. For example, I’ll be extra careful around post offices (which I only visit maybe 3 times a year), I don’t go to court houses, and I’ve sworn to never go near Philadelphia at all.

If I’m walking through Home Depot or my local grocery store, my shirt or jacket’s covering it but I don’t worry about it printing at all.

Anything from Sparks is outstanding. I like the SSII.

Also:

Tucker Cover-Up

Raven Concealment Systems Particularly the Appendix Carry Rig

Pocket Concealment Systems Highest quality pocket holsters I've seen. Like an Alessi holster for the pocket, which is not surprising, considering Mike studied with Lou.

Here's IMO, the best holster ever for Chief Specials or Colt Detectives. As far as I know it is the only upside down holster made that was any good. It was originally made by Bianchi back in the 60's.
