Tolerates zero dissent? Evolutionists argue fine points all of the time. They just require scientific evidence. That's what the creationists hate! They can't get their religious beliefs considered as scientific evidence. (Hey! There's a tagline in there somewhere!)

I will NEVER understand why creationists want to teach their religion in public schools. They have churches. Is it because they can’t get their kids to go to church?
