Yes, me too. Their new and improved "tie breaker" system is so convoluted and difficult to understand that the announcers couldn't even explain it. But, when it all got "computerized" out, in the end, our gymnast got silver, China's got gold. Go figure.
And another thing that is really irritating me is the age of China's athletes. They are supposed to be at least 16 years old. Many of them look about thirteen. I am just not convinced that they aren't changing their documents to make it appear that they are older than they really are. With all eyes on China, they know they MUST win every gold medal they can in order to look good to the world. I feel so badly for their athletes and the pressure it puts on them. This has always been the case for athletes from the communist countries. They do not compete for themselves, they compete entirely for the "state". And who knows what the actual consequences are if they don't perform well?
It seems that our athletes are always at a disadvantage when it comes to the games being hosted by a Communist country.
