What lady could resist a picnic with these two ingredients?
A good bottle of wine, and fresh roses

Andy Williams - The Day of Wine and Roses

(This You Tube Clip is not of a picnic - it is of New York, many years ago.
The voice of Andy Williams is so clear, I had to share it.)

Thanks for the link to the column by Eric Asimov, who always seemed more objective than Frank Prial, his predecessor. The individual notes are a bit dated, but basically sound—this from yours truly who manages flowing descriptions at the start of his tastings and few words to describe the wines at the end of his tastings—for reasons that may be obvious.

Hi Amy, this was so sweet of you to do that long list but thats “our Amy”. I have had to stay offline for the past 3 days...sinus infection with flu-like aching all over, just that feeling that you can’t walk across the floor! I get this about 3 times a year and end up calling my doctor, which I did today!

He called me in an antibiotic and I will get to feeling better in a day or two.

I’m going to try to answer a few pings but will stop if I start feeling bad. Thanks Amy!

How beautiful and romantic that is! That would be better than this antibiotic I am starting on! Have sinus infection and just feeling horrible for 3 days and couldn’t take it anymore. So I called the doc. and will start feeling better, I hope! I am trying to answer a few pings but I may not finish. I do get on here and read though!

Everything you all post is interesting, educational or just plain pretty! I do enjoy seeing and reading everything!

Jesus uses these times to send us a message,

When we are weakest, He is stronger. When we are in a valley we tend to listen better. He wants to communicate all the time, but we are too busy being "in control" of everything. It's only when we lose control that we go looking for help.

Sorry that we are on different time schedules, Rus. I enjoy your Daily Bread, but it seems I'm always about half a day late to say so. We started "fair week" today. Have to tend a booth for son's photography shop. It's hot, boring and tiring. I do get to say hello to eveyone in the county however.

I do pray that your time of stress is past and that you are feeling comforted. God bless.
