You guys have been hammered over 12 hours and the damn eye still ain’t moving, is there going to be anything left down there? Don’t know whats holding dolly back but she is stil maintaining circulation and formidable eye, hope it don’t pop back into the gulf.
And the odd thing looking at the radar is that the western and southern edges of the eyewall have looked worse than the normal 'dirty side' of the northern and eastern eyewall. The northern part of the eyewall has largely been open since landfall. But there is a thick eyewall to the south that has spent a long time over South Padre, Port Isabel and Harlingen. That gives a lot of time for a lot of rain to come down and weaken the tree roots so that shifting winds eventually take them down.
