I lived about 10 miles north of Gilroy in Morgan Hill for about 11 years. It was great in the morning when the breeze would blow up from Gilroy, bringing the smell of garlic!

Of course, I was also delighted to finally escape California in 1994!

I used to live in Watsonville and work in Gilroy and I
remember the smell wafting up as I rode my bike over Mt Madonna. Always made me hungry!

Glad to hear you were able to escape. I still do the 101 drive to Santa Clara every day.
