Well, my husband honestly could iron his uniforms better than me but he would let me do them some. If you were particular about them, like he was, he truly didn’t mind doing them. He was very handy. That guy could fix anything. Sometimes I will have things that need fixing and I will think to myself “if he was here, it would have been fixed yesterday!”
He could even sew a little. He had an uncle who was a tailor and he hung around his uncle’s shop when he was little and he learned how to do things like that. Now all my knives are dull in the kitchen.....he always kept them sharpened for me.
I have a picture of his ship that I will post. G-papa found it for me when he heard me talking about the USS Norris-DDE 859, isn’t it funny how you never forget those things. I addressed enough envelopes when he was aboard ship that I could never forget that!
I always say to couples like you all to enjoy every single moment and from what I read about you and Mrs. D. you seem to do that very thing. After you’ve been together for a lifetime, its terribly hard to live alone. Don’t get me wrong, I try to live a full life now....God is good, He helps heal the awful pain. He wants me to be happy while I am here. (I’ll post the pic. as soon as I locate it.)
