I may not know the whole story here, but that doesn't sound right. WAVs are uncompressed audio. If the WAV of a song is small, it's because the quality is very low or you really have an MP3 with a WAV file extension. Yes, I agree that wav files can be small. I assumed we were talking about CD quality, which is what the original poster was talking about. The 1 meg wav file could be about five seconds of CD quality music or a couple of minutes of really bad quality music.
