I caught this fella sitting outside a restaurant the other day, the ship in the background is the USS Turner Joy (now a floating museum) in Bremerton, WA.

Back in my Navy Daze, while serving aboard a Destroyer Tender, I remember the C. Turner Joy being alongside for a tender availability.

Perhaps the Turner Joy’s claim to fame was the Tonkin Gulf incident. To us Tender guys, she was just another ship in a long list that we serviced.
