It was fun for them and fun for me, tho I did drop behind on occasion. Two 2nd grade classes went. There were 27 students and 6 adults.
EAch student sat in the pilots seat of the hospital helicopter and also got to sit in the back. The pilot was there to answer questions.
Then we toured the imaging area and they saw xrays of things kids had swallowed. A 15 tear old had swallowed 5 batteries on a dare. Can you believe that? Needles, pins, coins, buttons ... almost anything you can imagine and lots of stuff that you can’t.
We went to engineering and an engineer showed them wheels chairs they were putting together for toddlers as well as adult size chairs. Marissa liked this because she has seen Jim’s chair for many years.
We saw patient rooms, play rooms, outdoor play areas, class rooms and quiet areas. The hospital is designed and decorated for children. They had a small aquarium.
All of the kids were very good.
Thank goodness the kids were all good, fascinated and mesmerized by what they were seeing and learning.
And the grown-ups are good and tired:)
Your friendship gif is very cute too.
Too scary to think of what gets swallered...yikes!
I think I’ll fade out gracefully here and get in the bath.
