There are many things to take into consideration when hiring and keeping doctors. How you feel about your doctor is all important. You two have to click.

Also, drs all have different interests and like the old saying, if you're a hammer you look at problems as nails, your GI will think Bowel, your endo thyroid, and so on.

You have to put time into research and see what you can find out about what ails you. Keep a diary and do the research that your dr would if he had the time. Present your evidence/ideas to the doctor.

Get your records sent to you from doctors and hospitals you've used recently. Copy it and summarize it for current and future drs.

Go for young male doctors. They're the ones who still care.

Thanks for the advice! I don’t particularly like drs of any sort—nothing personal. I can lay the blame for that squarely on my daddy’s side of the family. Welsh and Cherokee and backwoods Kentucky—generally healthy as horses and stubborn as mules. If they go to the dr/hosp it’s bad.

Daddy has not been to the dr—except for stitches, last week/cut his hand on a tablesaw—since he got out of the Marines in 64. I’m not quite that hardheaded! LOL

Gotta go to bed—have to work tom. It’s been really good talking to you! Night!
