That sounds perfect, Polly!
It costs us nothing except the offering.
I’m not sure what they do other than memory verses. They do have crafts and I think some competition (to see if the boys or the girls get to throw water balloons at their teachers.) On Saturday night, they are going to have carnival night. Of course she wants to go but it will interfer with our Family Night. I’m not making a decision just yet.
They do get a snack. The first night was an icee and a pudding cup.
I know it was a hundred years ago, but when we went to VBS it was for an hour or two during the day.

Thank you for both the compliments, Billie. Seems like a long time since we've "talked". I was just thinking as I came in here to my computer after teaching a two hour Bible study at my church and then going directly to the theater for rehearsals for the Melodrama that I am producing, after spending the day running around all over town collecting unsold tickets to put in the box office for Friday & Saturday performances, after collecting "door prizes" from various mechants, etc......I was thinking, "Girl, you are getting too old for this." I am very tired. I know, I know, I have this flaw. I think I have to run the world. I don't know how it's going to keep operating after I'm gone. You guys just might as well fold it up after my funeral. LOL.
Seriously, I do have an insatiable appetite for being involved. I really do need to slow down.
Now, how are you doing? I'm very behind with all the news of my FRiends.

Thank you, Kitty. Yes, Em is a precious child. She had a ball at her birthday party yesterday. Her Mom goes all out for her parties. Lots and lots of kids, and lots and lots of presents. The little miss dug into those gifts with “unbridled averice”. Her “Papa” asked her what she was going to do with all those presents. “Play with them” was her matter-of-fact answer. She politely thanked every person for the gift. She ran to each grandparent and gave them a big hug and said, “Thank you for the present.” Her uncle gave her a real golf bag with real clubs. She loves to play golf, now she has her own size clubs. She is very spoiled, but it doesn’t seem to “spoil” her.

Thank you for the warm wishes. Frustrated because I’m on the mend and still sore and worn out. Mine are caused by a genetic anomally, makes me have stones. Medicine cuts down on them and this was the first one in two years. They all rot.
I didn’t know about tea. Is that true? Coffee is okay, especially without milk.

Yes, gypsy in my soul. I’ve got that disease too. Can’t swim, afraid of water, but love to travel. My favorite place of all the lower 48 was Jackson Hole, Wy. The Tetons are actually spiritual.

Yep, she really is. I went out and found an old school chair desk (small size) and refinished it for her birthday. She loves it. She sat in it for the longest time and looked at her books, and then when she got ready to go, she put the books under the desk in the book storage. I’m keeping it here for her. She has a small table/chair at home.

I have to admit I didn't think it was the peaceful, soothing tones of Fryderyk Chopin's Nocturne Op.9 No.2, being played by Arthur Rubinstein, that were dancing in her head. LOL!

Juneteenth
Having been set free from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. Romans 6:18
On June 19, 1865, over 2 years after President Lincoln had signed the Emancipation Proclamation, General Gordon Granger rode into Galveston, Texas, and read General Order Number 3: The people of Texas are informed that in accordance with a Proclamation from the Executive of the United States, all slaves are free. For the first time, slaves in Texas learned that they were already free. Some were shocked; many others celebrated. June 19 soon became known as Juneteenth.
Nearly 25 years after the Emancipation Proclamation of the cross of Jesus, Paul wrote to the Roman believers. Some of them still did not understand what it meant to be free from sins bondage. They thought they could go on sinning because they were under grace (Rom. 6:15). So Paul reminded them of their status in Jesus by appealing to a familiar fact: Whatever we submit to becomes our master (John 8:34). To commit sin puts us in bondage to sin.
The other option is to be a slave of righteousness. Salvation actually means a change of bondage. As we once served sin, we are now committed to lives of righteousness because of the freedom Jesus provides.
My brothers and sisters, let us become in practice what we already are in statusfree!
The Savior can break sins dominion,
The victory He won long ago;
In Him there is freedom from bondage,
Hes able to conquer the foe. Smith
